22.- Tower of the Castle of Llanes
Built in the 13th century. this circular tower protected the northern entrance to the wall of Llanes. It has a ground floor and three floors. and an access door built in the 1950s reform directed by Luis Menéndez Pidal. At the time it had a moat and a drawbridge access. It currently houses the tourist office. It was declared a National Monument in 1876 (the first monument declared as such in Asturias).
It is part of the conserved wall section of Llanes. which goes from the old passage that connected Sablón beach with the church up to San Nicolás gate. next to the chapel of Santa Ana (section that now limits with the Casa del Cercáu).
