The Lamego Museum is located in the historic center of the city of Lamego. in the former Episcopal Palace. a building rebuilt in the second half of the 18th century under the patronage of Bishop Manuel de Vasconcelos Pereira. Today the Lamego Museum is an important reference in the regional. national. and even international panorama. given the quality and the singularity of some of the works of art that it possesses. assuming special relevance the objects classified in 2006 by the Portuguese State as National Treasures: medieval sarcophagus. decorated with a hunting scene. in bas-relief; the panels that Vasco Fernandes painted for the Cathedral of Lamego. between 1506 and 1511; the set of Flemish tapestries. woven in Brussels in the first half of the sixteenth century. and the figurative tiles panels with bucolic and hunting scenes from the seventeenth century.
