It is a Gothic church located in the historical centre of the town of Betanzos. which was built between the second half of the fourteenth century and the first half of the fifteenth. by Fernán Pérez de Andrade *O Bo* on top of an older temple. from the Romanesque period. which was a primitive parish for the town. It has a basilica-based design with three naves as well as four unvaulted sections leading to a triple apse. The central nave is wider than the lateral ones. The main chapel's ground plan is polygonal while the apse chapels have a square one. These three rooms are the only ones which are covered with a ribbed vault. The choir rises at the foot of the temple. Of the interior ornamentation. the main chapel’s altarpiece is worth mentioning. On the outside. the portals protrude. On the main façade. the entrance door is sheltered by a semi-circular arch. which is decorated with arches in the form of inverted palms while the archivolts present several orders of plant and geometric motifs. In the tympanum we can observe two scenes. the Adoration of the Kings and the Annunciation. above it. we can observe a large rosette. This church was declared a National Monument in 1944. It is declared an Asset of Cultural Interest (ACI).
