The House of Nicolaus Copernicus in Toruń: The House of Copernicus – a set of two Gothic houses at ul. Kopernika 15/17. built in early 15th century. In the period 1464-80 house number 15 was the property of merchant Nicolaus Copernicus. There on 19 February 1473 the famous Toruń's citizen and the great astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus was born. The front facades of both houses present uncovered sections of polychrome. Ceiling from the first half of the 15th century covered with 19th century polychrome and a kitchen area preserved in the house. District Museum – the House of Nicolaus Copernicus Unit functions in the houses. When visiting the museum you should definitely see the mock-up of Toruń from the times of Copernicus.
